FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LA MARZOCCO to Be Exclusive Espresso Equipment at the
Coffee Experience TED2013 being led by Barista Guild of America, Roasters Guild, and the Specialty Coffee Association of America

Seattle, WA (January 31, 2013) -La Marzocco USA, based in Seattle, Washington, is honored to once again support TED2013 and the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) and its Guilds by providing all of the espresso equipment for the Coffee Experience at this year’s conferences. The Coffee Experience installation will be set on TED campus Long Beach as well as TEDActive in Palm Springs, both taking place February 25-March 1, 2013. TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started in 1984, the conference brings together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment and Design.

La Marzocco will be providing nine different espresso machines, multiple Mazzer grinders as well as Marco precision hot water delivery systems at TED this year. This is the largest annual equipment showcase for the company, second only to SCAA’s Exposition, The Event, which takes place annually in April.

SCAA’s goal is to provide over 3,000 TED and TEDActive attendees a deeper experience of coffee delivering the caffeine that fuels conversations along with insights about coffee’s role as a culinary treasure and unique economic web that connects farmers, artisans, and coffee lovers all over the world. In addition to the Barista Guild bringing in 38 of the best coffee professionals from around the world to lead the experience, and actual service of coffee bars throughout the campuses, there will also be a slow bar where attendees may work hands-on with La Marzocco espresso machines and with one-on-one guidance from a Barista Guild representative to prepare an espresso beverage. There will also be heavy emphasis on sharing stories with TED attendees to grow their understanding of the world of specialty coffee: the processes that contribute to the finished cup; the economic web of coffee as an important world commodity.

Bringing these stories to the consumer is a key focus for La Marzocco; the company is honored to participate and help provide the finest technology and tools to help facilitate the learning experience for TED attendees. La Marzocco finds it important and exciting that TED attendees this year will be able to work directly on their machines and equipment. “TED is such a unique experiential learning opportunity. In our past participation we’ve found that attendees are curious and hungry to learn more about coffee and the equipment used to prepare coffee. We look forward to providing that experience again in 2013,” says Kent Bakke, CEO of La Marzocco International.

TED, SCAA and La Marzocco share the same business value of collaboration and dissemination of knowledge and skill. This important program being offered at TED will help reinforce the idea of relationships between farmers, artisans and coffee lovers across the world.

TED and TEDActive run from February 25-March 1, 2013. For more information on TED, go to www.TED.com

Los Angeles, CA (August 8, 2012)- Los Angeles is about to get a brand new kind of membership club. Like the Soho House and Jonathan Club, there is an application and acceptance process as well as dues to be paid, but the membership benefits are much different. Hub Los Angeles, a conscious lifestyle club, is positioning itself to attract the best impact professionals in the Los Angeles area and globally. The club’s sophisticated, refreshing and thoughtful approach to a community, membership and benefits provide a new opportunity for those looking to act on ideas and be supported by a community that shares their same life value set.

Hub Los Angeles, slated to launch September 2012, will be opening its doors in the heart of the Arts District in downtown Los Angeles, creating an innovative change community that is centered locally with a powerful global vision. Positioned as a beacon of resource through physical space and curated programming, this conscious lifestyle club was established as a business with a social mission to further social enterprise, education, and diverse collaborations across sectors. It will be a place where people working for a better world can quickly access relationships and support to bring their ideas to life.

Hub Los Angeles co-founders, Elizabeth Stewart and Nick Kislinger, saw a need to provide relevant, just-in-time resources for a new class of mobile, creative, socially-conscious professionals in Los Angeles and throughout the world. Hub LA was born with a vision for a new kind of gathering place where individuals integrate their personal values and meaning into their professional lives through daily work-social rhythms, cultural programming, and conscious business acceleration services. Imagine experiencing the type of comradery, collaborative opportunity, and face-to-face relationships of a university campus, but now located in your neighborhood.

“Our tech platforms have evolved, but what would it look like if our physical world changed to accommodate the level of social connectivity, flexibility, blurred lines, just-in-time services, and mobility that we use in our virtual lives? We want Hub Los Angeles to be the answer,” shares Elizabeth Stewart, CEO, Co-founder, Hub Los Angeles.

Hub Los Angeles member suite of services include access to creative, flexible office amenities, lounge and cafe space; an outdoor social setting; a global online network; and access to all specialized programming and events. The Hub’s membership goals are to highlight Impact Professionals; people using their work in the world to create positive social and environmental change, across all sectors and facilitate community and culture within a cohesive group including the recent grad, the entrepreneur, the freelancer, the executive, the business owner, the career shifter, the community activist, and more. Hub Los Angeles speaks to the whole person in its holistic approach to incubation, the application of ideas, and the process of innovation.

Anchored by a physical space, Hub LA will offer 4,000 square feet of creative industrial space in the heart of the Arts District.

“The look and feel of the space is a direct result of a diverse collaboration between big and small firms, all with the vision to see Hub LA come to life. We are working closely with new start-up GardnerDesignLab; Moses Hacmon, a local artist; furniture designer; Haworth, a corporate leader in sustainable, stylish office furniture and systems, and a major sponsor of Hub Los Angeles as well as IOS, a Haworth preferred dealer.” states Elizabeth Stewart.

This new offering, which will be in constant beta as it grows and adapts to the community of members, serves as a highly visible platform; partner and knowledge center to accelerate positive change locally, nationally and internationally. Changemakers (members) of Hub LA are also connected to a global community of over 30 Hubs around the world.

In addition to its co-founders, Hub Los Angeles includes a group of 60 founding members that support this new much-needed infrastructure in the city and will be shepherding the mission across the Los Angeles area. These members represent diverse sectors within the city of Los Angeles working to make an impact in their communities.

Hub Los Angeles is located at 830 Traction Ave, #3A, Los Angeles, CA 90013 and is currently accepting applications for monthly memberships tailored to fit the candidates specific needs, whether it be for community, programming, and/or a physical place to be pushed productively. Social Presentation Network Launches As Virtual Solution to Job-Seeking

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRESENTFULL is the New Resume
Social Presentation Network Launches As Virtual Solution to Job-Seeking
For Students and Grads

Los Angeles (June 12, 2012) Presentfull (www.Presentfull.com) launched today in Beta providing students, recent graduates, interns, and individuals a virtual modern solution to the dated paper resume. The social presentation network includes social resume building tools and hopes to assist millions in the daunting task of job searching by providing an integrated platform, including a 30 second video introduction for each profile and tools to build a perfectly constructed resume. Described by many as the youth version of LinkedIn or a professional version of Facebook, Presentfull has plans to become the best digital resume building website.

Presentfull, which stands for: full presentation defines the company mission to provide a succinct and full presentation of students, graduates and interns to the opportunities and organizations that matter. While students are posting their profile presentations, companies will be listing jobs for free and connecting directly with candidates. The site provides a modern more comprehensive method of getting to know applicants as well as a filter for companies in their search for the best candidates. As a job-seeker, listing a profile on Presentfull will provide a more detailed digital presence which provides companies a review of the applicant beyond just a piece of paper.

In an effort to help youth unemployment rates, this new network represents a positive powerful solution. The initial launch is focused on the United States and the U.K. In both countries, the unemployment rates among youth top 25%. Student debt is also climbing higher than ever. In the United States, student debt now exceeds that of national credit card debt at over $1 trillion.

The Presentfull team has been busy this Summer in preparation for the launch; attracting over 80 University student bodies internationally so far, including UC Berkeley, Cambridge University, Wharton, Stockholm University, Columbia University, Cornell, USC, and Stanford. Students and recent graduates from these schools will be posting profiles beginning this week. It is completely free to post a profile on the site and takes just minutes to complete the process. Having a Presentfull profile will enhance the professional presence of individuals in the most modern way.

Presentfull will also be hosting companies and job postings including openings from large and small corporations from across the globe. It is completely free to post a job. Corporations will officially begin posting in two weeks.

Presentfull’s network allows you to connect with other members, classes and organizations. If you are connected to a company as soon as they post a new job you will be notified. In addition to the video introductions members can record, there is a messaging system, a fast and free 6 step resume builder, references can be uploaded or even degree certificates, and there is a questions tab – so users can interact with others.

If companies wish to use their own application system, Presentfull is still of benefit as it will direct traffic to company career websites. This comprehensive user experience is what allows users to present themselves with distinction. A major added bonus to students is that Presentfull allows users to enhance their professional online presence instantly.

Presentfull is not just for students and or recent graduates; it will assist many unemployed individuals and is open to anyone that would like to list a profile. “Presentfull provides my fellow service men and women an excellent tool in transition back into the civilian world, to find quality jobs so we can continue to provide for our families after our years of service,” endorses Tom Smith, Navy Sailor, 2012 USS Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Presentfull founder & CEO, Amar Singh, 22, is a Harvard educated entrepreneur living in London committed to promoting social change for youth. “ In these tough economic times, individuals need to strengthen the way they present themselves to potential employers and opportunities. Presentfull is the answer,” shares Singh.

In addition to Singh, the new company boasts an impressive team that includes Eric Nicoli, Presentfull Chairman, who was previously Executive Chairman of EMI Group plc and CEO of United Biscuits plc; Nigel Taee, Managing Advisor, who is founder and Chairman of Grosvenor House Group, a founding investor in Seattle Coffee company which was sold to Starbucks in 1998 and who has just launched Scape student accommodation; Nick Cary, CTO; and Ramses Visher, Director of Operations.

Presentfull is currently developing an Application for use on multiple platforms to complement the network and has plans to have this ready for Fall 2012. Although the Presentfull site is currently mobile friendly and users can build resume’s using their phone.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Architecture for Humanity Acquires Worldchanging
Two TED Prizes to be Merged and Develop Robust Center of Applied Innovation

San Francisco, CA (September 19, 2011) Architecture for Humanity is honored to formally announce the acquisition of Worldchanging, a leader in solutions-based journalism, merging its’ assets with the Open Architecture Network to new site will offer both ideas and tools for building a better world.

Design increasingly includes discussions of policy and planning, communication, social justice and science; issues that once fell outside the traditional bounds of architecture are now at the heart of professional practice. Bringing these two worlds together is a logical next step in sustainable development.

Cameron Sinclair, Executive Director of Architecture for Humanity, says, “We are thrilled to connect with the Worldchanging community in order to expand the ways we can continue to make a difference across the world. Each project we do requires innovative solutions, resourcefulness, and passion. It’s a perfect fit.”

Over the next six months Architecture for Humanity plans to transform their current Open Architecture Network (www.openarchitecturenetwork.org, an on-line network that empowers architects, designers, builders and their clients to share architectural plans and drawings, into a robust platform that provides dialogue and tools to support a shared vision of a more sustainable future across sectors. The combined strength of these communities, both created out of the TED Prize, will help spur innovation, learning, and best practices.

The new site, which will be managed by an independent entity, will include project management tools, offer case studies on innovative solutions and provide tools for aid and development organizations evaluate their programs in the field.

“Last decade was about imagining the solutions that could help us meet big planetary problems,” said Worldchanging co-founder and former Executive Editor Alex Steffen. “This decade will be all about putting those solutions to work. This exciting new version of Worldchanging is set, I believe, to become the online epicenter of applied innovation.”

Over the summer, Architecture for Humanity met with over sixty writers, contributors, stakeholders and supporters to envision the transition of these sites. “Worldchanging has helped frame the global conversation on sustainability over the past seven years, and we couldn’t be more excited for Architecture for Humanity to take the reins and continue to push the boundaries of what we can achieve together,” Worldchanging co-founder Jamais Cascio noted “I can’t imagine Worldchanging being in better hands.”

“I am grateful to the Worldchanging Board of Directors for their active stewardship of Worldchanging during this transition” said Stephanie Pure, Board President of Worldchanging. “Thanks in part to this positive team effort, Worldchanging has a bright future with Architecture for Humanity.”

Many of the original writers to Worldchanging, including co-founders Jamais Cascio and Alex Steffen, have signed up to contribute to the new site. We look forward to a bright green future together.

About the Acquisition
In November of 2010, Worldchanging announced it was taking steps to close its doors and dissolve as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Since then, the Board of Directors has been working hard to find a new future for the site. As with the dissolution of all 501(c)3s, the Board is required to transfer the assets of Worldchanging, including this website, to another like-minded organization. The Board committed to finding a new home for all the valuable essays, stories, and learning accumulated through the seven years of Worldchanging’s efforts so they could continue to be a catalyst for future discussions and information sharing on how we can build a bright green future.

The Worldchanging Board of Directors embarked on a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) selection process and found Architecture for Humanity to be the ideal match in terms of mission, vision, impact, and importantly, the organizational and technological capacity to run a program such as Worldchanging. Architecture for Humanity presented the most compelling of vision and was selected by the Board of Directors.
